Tim Sweeney

After a standout multi-sport high school career at Derry Area in western Pennsylvania, Coach Sweeney went on to become a linebacker and special teams player at Penn State from 1985 – 1988 which included being a member of the National Championship team in 1986.  After graduation, Sweeney and his brothers established a successful manufacturing business which they still own and operate.  His passion for coaching allowed him to join the staff at his alma mater, Derry Area High School, in which he is currently the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator in a hotbed of high school football.  In addition to serving on the Football Letterman board at Penn State, Sweeney has reached out to coach at the University of Oregon Football Camps and the Penn State Fantasy Camp as well.
